My husband, Tsgt (Ret) Ken Hack and I ran 5 miles along side of almost 1000 troops and volunteer runners at Lackland AFB. It was the most memorable event I have partaken in and I will never forget it! The squadrons ran in formation with the USA Flas as well as their squadron flags. They were proud and solemn as they ran for their fallen soldiers! Thank you and I hope you do this every year.

I regret we didn't get the info to you before the run yesterday.

Thirty - seven members of all ages, from St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Lake Jackson, Texas ran/walked/scootered (& one motorcyclist, a member of the Patriot Guard, who kept watch) yesterday morning at 8:00 am CST. Our walk/run was through Freeport, TX and it was three miles in length.

While you were crossing the Memorial Bridge in Washington, our runners were crossing the Velasco Bridge in Freeport, Tx. There were several other runners (& walkers) for a total of about 50, but those from St. Timothy's were running in honor of SPC Collin R. Schockmel who was killed in Iraq on January 17, 2007 by a rocket propelled grenade. He was my grandson.

We used your bib and each wore a picture of Collin pinned to our shirt. I hope to see a final tally on your web-site.

Thank you so much for this wonderful tribute to our fallen heroes. It never stops hurting, does it?

The St Cloud Pavement Pounders Running Club, held a memorial walk/run today at East Lake Toho Lake Front Park in St. Cloud, Florida. 60 men, women and children walked or ran for a combined total of 331 miles in a show of solidarity for our service members . American Flags and signs honoring each branch of the services lined the path at the mile markers. Thank you for your service and ultimate sacrifice.

I ran a 5k in memory of Justin R. Mixon at the RC Durr YMCA in Boone County KY. I don't know Justin, but I was honored to wear his name on my bib, and have the opportunity to run in his honor. They had a very moving ceremony to begin the race with Amazing Grace played on the bag pipes and Taps on the bugle by a local high school student. We were escorted by 4 motorcycle clubs who kept us safe streetside. Thanks Rolling Thunder!
Thank you to all who serve and sacrifice for our freedom! We pray for all to return home safely and also for the families of the fallen. God Bless.

My mother, my aunt, my sister and her husband, my cousin, a few friends, and I will be running/walking in memory of my brother, SSG EDWIN H. DAZACHACON, and his comrades: SGT. 1st CLASS CHAD A. GONSALVES, SSG CLINTON T. NEWMAN, and SGT. ALBERTO D. MONTROND, KIA in Deh Rawod, Afghanistan on 02/13/06. We will never forget them, and pray for peace, so that the number of families that endure the pain of losing a loved one doesn't continue to increase. May the next run be to honor our troops coming back home as heroes, but safe and sound!

I will run one mile in memory of my former student Matt Bertolino who died in Afghanistan, another mile for Jon Grassbaugh who died in Iraq, and a third mile for any other former Pinkerton Academy student who has died serving our country. Both Matt and Jon were from Hampstead, NH and graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH.
