This year’s run in The Woodlands, TX was held on Saturday, March 20th. It was a successful turn out despite the early morning rain and clouds.
Here are a few pictures from the run:

The event was held at Woods National Cementery, the 3rd oldest in the Country, which is located on the Milwaukee VA grounds. This cemetery, like Arlington, holds the remains of 100’s of our beloved military heroes. 15 Wisconsin Gold Star Families, along with friends and supporters, ran over a total of 200 miles for our Fallen Heroes on Sunday the 23rd, 2009.

While many shared photos with us, I wanted to highlight these today, as today is the 8th anniversary of September 11th, 2001. These photos from the WI 2009 run envelop the cycle of our lives – the pain, the joy, and the sacrifice. Today, like the runs held across the nation, we remember. And, in that remembrance we reattain, we rediscover not just the lives of our loved ones, but the joys and the pangs of our own lives too. We honor them, and in so doing, we honor each other.
