We will again host a local Run For the Fallen on Aug. 7th, 2011. It will be held at Perry County Fairgounds in Pinckneyville, IL by the main gate. We will begin with opening ceremonies at 2 PM which will include the reading of the names of Fallen Illinois Heroes from OEF and OIF. WE WILL CELEBRATE OUR FREEDOMS, HONOR AND REMEMBER ALL OF OUR VETERANS, AND SHOW SUPPORT FOR THOSE CURRENTLY SERVING IN THE MILITARY. There will be FREE FOOD and MUSIC for all participants. Music provided by Beacoup Creek and Play that Funky Music. The ILPGR Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall will also be here for this event. There is NO COST to participate. Our goal is to walk, bike, or run a total of miles to equal the number of fallen Illinois soldiers. We met our goal in 2008, 2009, and 2010. I know we can do it again. Even if you are unable to participate by walking, running, or biking you are still welcome to celebrate our freedoms and show appreciation to those who have helped to secure those freedoms. We will be collecting donations for HUGSS, 1st LT. Michael J. Cleary Fund, Wounded Warrior Project, and the Yellow Ribbon Fund. Watch for more information in the near future. For more information you can call Gay Eisenhauer at 618-318-5035 or email Rebecca Anderson at firstname.lastname@example.org
